- Candidates who pursued a diploma through lateral entry after ITI are not eligible.
- Category – I: Stipendiary Trainee/Scientific Assistant (ST/SA)
- Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, or Electronics Engineering with at least 60% marks.
- B.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science with 60% marks.
- Mathematics at the 10+2 level is required for all candidates.

- SSC (10th) with 50% marks in Science and Mathematics.
